1. I heard that you had the opportunity to sign with Murda Inc. Why did you choose not to sign with them?
Na I had an opportunity to audition for Murder Inc. Irv Gotti was showing me a lot of love. I blew the opportunity, I wasnt ready for the opportunity at the time I must have been 16-17 at the time.
2. What made you decide to sign with TVT?
I signed with TVT an independent company who will let me do my independent things and if youre not doing shit independently right now you are definitely getting fucked so that why Im in this situation.
3. How did you create the name Pitbull?
I mean basically after the dog you know to stupid to lose bite, lock, loyal.
4. How does it feel holding it down for Miami?
Man it feels great to hold it down for Miami cause I feel we always been stereotyped so you know now to come out and nigg*s respect what we doing its a beautiful thing man, Thank GOD.
5. Now that reggae tone is becoming a big part of the hip hop industry how does it feel to be one of the establishing factors in that move?
I mean its sort of like I got throw in into that movement because Im not a reggae tone artist I just happen to know about it and I just happen to rap in Spanish so I can get away with a lot of shit. I mean Im respected by reggae tone artist and I respect what they do to so Im sort of like that little mother fucker that can jump in and our of this like ok I can do a reggae tone record, jump back do a crunk record with Jon, jump back do a dirty south record with Bun B, so its just a beautiful thing that I can jump in and our of worlds and still be respected and have you know original credibility so its definitely an advantage to be able to be apart of that movement also.
6. How is it working with one of the largest producers in the game, Lil Jon?
Its a blessing you know I knew Jon before Jon became you know he is and just to see him grow grind and still be the same person its a blessing and Jon knows what people want so when he puts together a beat and hes like yo you need to jump on this one right here Im telling you its out of here theres no question alright lets do it you know so its a blessing to be in there with Jon working and cooking.
7. You just dropped your album can you tell us a little about it?
Well the albums name is M. I. A.M.I., which stands for money is a major issue and the album is basically describing Miami from every angle from the clubs to the streets, from the woman to you know the Caribbean flavor we got down here so you know its a melting pot basically of music.
8. What are your goals now for 2005?
2005 is just to take this thing to the next level, you know about to drop and we putting together an all Spanish album, putting together a reggae tone compilation, my album is about to go gold a lot of things gong on I got a bad boy athletic shot that we did, me, T.I., Lil Wayne, Lloyd and P-Diddy called New Breed and campaigned to hit in March. I also got the Scarface Game coming out they put me in character right that right there. So I got a lot of thing there and Im still out in there streets hustling, hustling these mix tapes putting out my own mix tapes, putting out my own everything, cause if you dont do it for yourself who going to do it, so Im out there like I aint got shit.
9. So whats currently your next move?
Well my next move is, well Toma featuring Lil Jon, thats the next record, next single. We going to shoot a video right there so thats the next move, I got the Damn It Man remix, going to be me, Lil Wayne, Trying to get Jada and got Lil Flip already.
10. Is there any artist or producers you would like to work with in the future?
I like to work with a lot of people so I take it as it comes. Its great when you meet people, build a relationship and then work not just put together from some publishers or from people who know people. I like to meet people then meet me so when they make music for me they understand who I am and they make music for me.
11. Who would you say are your top favorite rappers right now?
My favorite rapper was BIG; Jay Z is up there too. Those two are really the ones I admire like that and business wise Luke is up there for me too.

12. Joe from Tampa Bay asks; when can we expect a new Pitbull album?
New Pitbull album you will definitely see it either end of this summer or the beginning of 2006.

End of Fan Questions
14. Are you being featured on anybodys album?
Well Im featured on the new Lil Jon album on that What They Gone Do remix me and Daddy Yanky and that Gasolina remix me, Daddy Yanky, Lil Jon, and Noreaga. Ill probably be coming out on the Fat Joe album, and they just through me on the new Lets Go remix, it me, Trick, I think Stat Quo and Game I think it is.
15. Can you tell us a little about your hip hop career, how did you start out?
Just like everybody else out there battling in the streets, in school, in the clubs, parties, however I could get my name out there I was out there battling, one thing led to another and next thing you know Im doing what Im doing now. I mean the ropes came through Diaz brothers, Luther Campbell learned a lot from him also, kept grinding, putting out my own mix tapes, my own shit, and Im basically where Im at now.

1. How did you guys come to be?
Group came to be with a vision that Block had two years ago and weve been talking about it since then and the deal went when he got the deal with Jazzy Fe. When he got the deal he called me cause he already knew me and Gee. Me and Gee have been working together for years so he said well put out the group in motion and to call Gee they had just signed Jody Breeze and Jeezy ya know what Im saying, we needed two more people they were down anyway so we just brought them two and recorded a song he has signing and it came out good. -- Duke
2. Who came up with the name?
Block came up with the name he has the idea for years. Gee
3. Tell me something about the album what kind of sound does it have?
The album has a gutter sound, strictly hood no R&B hooks, gangsta lyrics with gangsta beats. Gee
Everyday shit. Whats really goin on in the streets no stupid code no nothing you know what I mean, all the coke, and baby mamma problems, and drug dealing, to the homies in jail, got something to do with the street that what we do thats what we talking about. Breeze
4. Whos featured on the album?
T.I., Trick Daddy, Jazzy Fe, Trina, Rick Rolls. Did a lot of records with people but right now dont know which ones Im actually gonna use. The first album I wanna keep it just built me and Puff gotta go over it this week and then well decide from there. But I have everybody thats gutter on the album. Sean Paul to Young blood, Trick daddy TI the album is really gonna make it down. Block
5. P. Diddys girlfriend heard them and made P. Diddy listen to them, and thats how they got hooked. Do you think if it werent for her that this wouldve never happened?
Yea Kim heard the CD and gave it to Puff and Puff was like my girl neva gave me a CD before so he had to listen to it. When he listened to it he heard three songs and right then he flew them to NY and the bar started rolling. Like I had four different people trying to sign a group ya know what Im saying, at the same time Puff was the one that actually did what he said everyone else was talking about their skill they do this they do that when Puff was like come on lets do it ya know what Im saying. Sign that check and thats where it was at. Block
6. I hear that you dont follow industry guidelines; do you think if you did things would be different?
I feel right now in the game people need real shit ya know what Im saying, like a evolving right now so I just feel if I live my life the way I live in the street ya know what Im saying, if you do the music game like that itll work, pretty soon everything in life thats fake shit wont come through, so I just do me. Block
7. You said in the biography that youre worried about staying the way you are. Are you worried about the industry trying to change the way you sound?
I think if everyone keeps their head on strong ya know what I mean, stay grinding and know what we here to do ya know what I mean and everyone play theirs cards I think everyone will be aight. Breeze
8. I read in the biography that you guys have been to different industries and they want real and when you give them real they cant handle it.
Yea I go that dilemma but thats me Im a real street nigga so I aint rapping around I aint rapping to sell no albums. I could give a fuck about platinum ya know what Im saying, a lot of niggas come in the game trying to get the shit a nigga already has coming in the game so to me its more about respect the spot ya know what I mean. It like at the end of the day I just wanna be heard. I wanna help niggas through their day ya know what Im saying and motivate niggas ya know what I mean; to be out here to get this change and still their grind and stay focused ya know what I mean. Im just trying to restore some morals back in the game ya know what Im saying, with out this snitch shit with the fuck boys and lame niggas ya know what Im saying, out here chillen they niggas aint kicking it right I got tired of hearing niggas like represent this shit wrong everyone want to be street niggas but they dont know what the fuck they talking about. -- Jeezy
9. Whats it like working with P. Diddy?
Its fantastic I love working with him. Gee
10. You guys say that you have your own individual style. What makes each one of you guys unique?
Were not that different in a lot of ways we similar cause we all pretty much do the same shit. Im the oldest out the group. Im not that much older that Gee but Ive been around the block. Being in the hood getting in the hood and learning to get out, opposed to Jody he dont care he kinda wild ya know. Basically the same shit trying to get on a different page trying to make a transition. Jeezy he just trying to get his mind together that what he do. Gee is gutter to death he do what he do he got a limit. Im really not that different from the cats in the group were from the same areas. Duke
My style is more from an everyday perspective I think from everyday person not all about the balling. My style is basically really gutter more of a day to day basis. -- Gee
I dont really consider myself styling I just tell my shit from a hustlers perspective. Just do the thug motivation thing ya know what Im saying, just motivate niggas to get the bread cause thats the type of shit thats on my solo shit so I just bring that to the group. Jeezy
11. So youre going to have your own solo album coming out?
Yea its called Lets Get It, its dropping like April 19th through Def Jam and Corporate Thugs Entertainment which is my label. --Jeezy
12. Is that going to be really different from the album that you have with the group?
Yea you know what it is theres more about me and my life and my childhood in the hood and the shit that Ive been through and shit I did, so yea definitely. Jeezy

1. What was going through your mind, being in prison while the 8 mile movie became successful?
Man I had alot of anger in me because I was like damn I'm locked up while the movie was out and while I'm in prison I can see the clippings for the commercial for the movie and I was in the clip of the commercial for the movie and I was frustrated it was like after so long I was supposed to go down like this but in the beginning there was allot of frustration and I was angry, pissed off I felt like damn this was my break and I missed it but actually I didn't miss it was just the beginning.
2. Why did Eminem choose you to be his rival in the 8 Mile movie?
I think eminem picked me to be his rival in the 8 mile movie because at that time before 8 mile it was alot of groups in Detroit making noise but alot wasn't making noise like us you know what I'm saying and how we stayed on top of everything doing shows and you know the competition of shows between us and d12 it was like after so long they wouldn't even put my group on a show you know what I mean. Because it was like when we stepped on stage it was hard for somebody else to come on behind us.
3.You were once on Proof of D-12's label, Iron Fist Records - what happened with that situation?
I got out of prison and came home like a mobster not glorified of being in a mob but you know how a person go to prison and he don't tell? I came back out like a made man and everybody was showing me love and proof stepped in and flew me to LA and I ended up doing a song with method man, just off the strength of me meeting him he saw me in the 8 mile movie and he wanted to do a joint and I told him I'm doing something. He grabbed my phone put his number in there and we ended up doing the song and shortly after I came back home, there was a lot of jealousy back in Proof's label and people was getting in his ear saying that Strike and the Mountain Climbaz (Animal Chief, Journalist 103 and DJ King David) are out for themselves and we were a ready made crew and Proof was giving groups A&R development and I think with the jealousy and envy it just crumbled our relationship. So we left man before the storm came like we said we didn't need this label.
4. Lets talk a little about the album what can we expect from the freeworld lp?
You can expect power and expect to see what Detroit is really about, because even with Em and D12 doing there thing, you still aint seen Detroit and the people still aint heard the songs from the heart of Detroit and I think its about time to see another Detroit artist shine and its time for that next artist to pop out at that magnitude and with Eminem and 50 Cent are selling 11 million copies and better its almost insane that we don't do these numbers. 5. Would you say you have a lot of commercial stuff on it or is it more meaningful?
I think my album represents a perfect and well rounded emcee and my album represents the Free World (album title) and it has a lot of stuff for everybody and its not as commercial because we can take a hard song and it will happen to go pop and was really meant for the streets and everybody will like it from black and white. Kids in the suburban areas will like the album because it has something for everyone. 6. The album right now is it still in the works or is it completly done?
The album is done. 7.Who laced production on it and who will be guests appearing on it?
My man Dirty Bird who actually did the track, P.I.M.P. for 50 Cent, my man Kyzer Sosay who did keep talking for Em and D12, he's on there producing and I got some new cats called the 2 wise man, a guy name Prefix. Dj butter is on there with a joint and I got some stuff from my man David Ruffin Jr. and I got heat from Method Man, Proof & Bizarre (D12) and Royce da 5'9 on the album and I got the songstress Dina Rae on the album with Eminem and of course I got my squad the Mountain Climbaz cause we been doing this since the begining and its finally happening and I got my homies, Brando, A1 from Puritan Avenue and Miz korona, which is my cousin from 8 mile is on the joint. Wesley Valentine and my man Akramallah from Brooklyn is on there in my city everybody look at me as being the next star you know what I'm saying mean really and I humble to say this so what I did is I want to reach that since them cats is hot to death they about to blow but just need that extra stuff they need somebody like Strike to say get on this song for me for the import album.
8. What's the next film you will be featured in?
Actually we doing the film called the big come up I got a Johnson coming down I got a few other people coming down umm all I'm doing man I'm just using the faith and the money and like ima get a couple other actors like some big known actors but then I'm just gonna put my people from the hood man you know what I'm saying just like they did wit me and 8 mile I never went to acting school I never did none of that you know what I'm saying I'm saying it was an opportunity where my man em did his thing and he came back and applause the people in the hood you know em catch allot of heat man but 8 mile helped allot of people out you know so that's all ima did I'm just gonna do more things for my city then he's doing (you did pretty good for a first time actor in that movie dog) thanks man (you still connected wit any of those actors?) yea I always know mekhi phifer a year and a half before we did the film I've bin like I've bin traveling doing this music thing for a long time you know it aint nothing I just started so I got allot of allies around the world in this thing man allota good allies you know like Redman, method man, rah digga, outsidaz you know what I'm saying del la soul, hyroglyphics, mos def, talib kwali, I mean the list is long man I can sit here and told you almost every known cat in the game. (Yea I feel you) |
