According to online reports Aftermath Records CEO Dr. Dre recently signed Floetry vocalist Marcia Ambrosius to a solo contract and has already begun production on her solo debut.
Sources at parent company Interscope Records say 50 Cent was attracted to the project and jumped on a song. However, Ambrosius and spoken word partner Natalie "the Floacist" Stewart are reportedly not breaking up. The seven time Grammy nominated soul duo are planning a lounge tour to promote Flo’Ology, their third LP (Floetic-2002, Floacism-2003), released in November through Interscope subsidiary Geffen Records. Aftermath has consistently grabbed platinum plaques since 50 Cent and G-Unit Records joined in 2003.
Ambrosius becomes the sole singer on a roster that also includes Eminem, Eve, Busta Rhymes and The Game. Her solo work includes background vocals for The Game’s "Start from Scratch" and Justin Timberlake’s "Cry Me a River." Floetry was nominated for a 2006 Grammy via the Scott Storch-produced, Common assisted "SupaStar."
