Foxy Brown Fighting Rare Condition

Roc-a-fella rapper Foxy Brown was diagnosed with a rare condition that leads to a loss of hearing. The Brooklyn-born artist, known for hits like "Stylin'" and "Come Fly With Me," revealed earlier this week that she is going through medical treatment and surgery to fight the combat.

Foxy, better known to some as Inga Marchand, noticed symptoms building up earlier this year when label boss Jay-Z commented that the sound levels on her new album were too high and when she noticed herself missing phone calls as a result of not hearing the ring. In addition, she realized she couldn't hear people unless they spoke at high tones. In May, she woke up to find her hearing completely diminished.

"All along, I'm feeling my hearing going slowly, but I'm thinking, 'God would never do this. This can never happen to me,'" Foxy said to America's People Magazine.

Foxy is currently undergoing surgery in an attempt to decease the severe condition.

"The initial doctor I went to told me that if I had attacked the problem when I first realized my hearing was going, I probably would have been able to heal it immediately. Now, they say I may be able to hear with an implant. I know it will be an uphill battle," said the rapper in the same interview.
