Rapping since the day of my birth I was coming up the worst / Snatch the purse, put my hand up the skirt / Put the body in earth / Then I thought ‘what’s it worth’ / Now forever I’m cursed / I’m cursed, bowing down in the church praying to stay away from hearse (“Watch Your Movements” feat. Akon).

Bad Boy rapper Black Rob finds no difficulty in displaying mental images of his past and present life to his listeners through a record. Loaded with lyrics describing details of the rapper’s trials, hardships and climb back to the top, The Black Rob Report looks to be as memorable as the rapper’s previous 2000 hit, “Whoa.” As he prepares for his album’s release on Oct. 18, Black Rob is nothing but grateful for the support and loyalty of P. Diddy and the Bad Boy family.

Raised in Spanish Harlem, Black Rob grew up without a father figure, often ran away from home and spent some time in prison. Once he decided to put crime life behind him, things began to look promising for Rob in 1995 when P. Diddy and Bad Boy Records looked beyond the artist’s shaky past and signed him to the label.

His guest appearances on a number of tracks by the likes of Mase, P. Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Kim and Total led to his first album creation, Life Story, released in early 2000. “Whoa,” the hit single that is still played today on radio airwaves and clubs throughout the country, became the biggest record of the year 2000.

The next five years marked a rocky interval in Black Rob’s life as he had to overcome issues with the law and recover from a rare kidney disorder. Finding it hard to focus, Rob decided it was time for a break to kill
physical and professional staggers that were keeping him from doing his thing; today, he describes that break a “blessing in disguise.”

A fully recovered and reloaded Black Rob returns with his new album, The Black Rob Report, as a legendary artist making his comeback into the hip hop music wave, proving to fans and artists that anything is possible. On top of that, Rob recently hit the stage with Jay-Z in the sold out “Jay-Z and Friends” tour and is now taking stabs with the business of hip hop as he is currently coaching a group of young emcees to become the next crew to debut
in music.

“This album is the next phase of Bad Boy, and B.R. is coming up in the journals of hip hop history as one of the best to ever do this thing. This project is going to be something different, something special. I can feel it,” commented the man himself, Black Rob.
