Juelz Santana is set to release,
What The Game’s Been Missing
this November 22. MH2 couldn’t wait that long so we broke into Dipset
headquarters to report to our audience the exclusives. Okay so we heard
it at a listening session. Don’t knock us for trying to boost our
street cred! Aye!
Juelz changes up his format a little bit but retains his “gangsta”
style. What’s understood is that Juelz made this album for his
original fans that rode with him because the formula that Dipset fans
love stays intact. Don’t get it twisted, What The Game’s
Been Missing is a step up as a sophomore album and it’s doubtful
that he’ll suffer from the sophomore jinks with this one. Even
with an arsenal of appearances like Cam’Ron, Young Jeezy and Lil’
Wayne (to name a few), Juelz runs his album…Aye!
THE BANGER-“Tick Tock”
This is a major powerhouse on What The Game’s Been Missing.
The bass chimes on a tick and tock tempo in the background production.
The anthem dedicated to anyone who tries to make a dollar through the
hustle, could be his next single. Juelz stays within his realm of New
York grit to create a banger instead of selling out his sound.
THE SOUL TUGGER-“Good Ol’ Days”
Juelz takes us down memory lane. He brings up throw back past times
that’ll make you go “Damn I remember that.” A few
past times Juelz brings back is the fade, “Yo! MTV Raps”,
tag, and block parties. If anyone misses the 90’s then this one
will tug your old school soul.
THE UNEXPECTED- “Daddy”
Juelz drops his thug guard and dedicates a track to his little man.
He displays his sentimental side in Diplomat format. Juelz pledges that
he’d “bury a block” for his seed. While the softer
side is executed in his lyrics, don’t expect baby Juelz to be
“no punk.” In fact if anyone tests the little gangsta, Juelz
expects his son to stand up for himself and throw down. Call it tough
love but in the end this is one side of Juelz that’s not usually
seen.
THE POET SNAP – “Lil’ Boy Fresh”
Remember “Fresh?” The 1994 movie based on a kid that brought
two drug kingpins into war. Well if you don’t then Jewelz recreates
the scenario in an updated version set in Harlem. Colombian “Jose
who was the cocaine boss” is fooling around with shortie’s
bigger sister. Meanwhile shorty works for some other goons like “Malik.”
Sound familiar? Santana based this on experiences that he called “real
music and real shit.”
